West Mall Lightning Minor Hockey Association Scholarship
At West Mall Lightning, we’re proud to continue supporting the next generation of leaders both on and off the ice. That’s why we’re excited to offer four $500 scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year—two for our House League players and two for our GTHL players. These funds are designed to help with tuition, textbooks, or room and board at any accredited college or university in Canada or the U.S.
Whether you’re starting your college journey or continuing your education, you can apply! We want to support our players as they pursue their academic dreams and make an impact in their communities.
How to Apply:
To apply for the West Mall Lightning scholarship, please send the following documents to:

What to Include in Your Application:
- Cover Letter: Tell us a little about yourself, why you believe you deserve the scholarship, and how it will help you achieve your goals.
- Program Info: Let us know what program/major/course you’ll be studying at college/university.
- Transcripts: Include your high school transcripts (grade 11 & 12) or the most recent college/university year completed.
- Letter of Acceptance: A copy of your acceptance letter from the school you’ll be attending.
- West Mall Hockey Info: Tell us the teams you’ve played for at West Mall.
- Awards & Accomplishments: Any other recognitions or awards you’ve received.
- References: Two personal character references (at least one from a West Mall coach or executive member, if possible).
